Home Bars | Stocking for Ten Popular Cocktails:

Compiling a definitive list of the top 10 cocktails or the 10 most popular mixed drinks is an exercise in futility. Age, gender, region of the
country or world, season, occasion and many other factors affect the results. However, the following mixed drinks tend to appear frequently in
top ten most popular cocktail lists as published by local bars or from bartending and other surveys:

Bloody Mary / Cosmopolitan / Screwdriver - vodka based
drinks mixed primarily with tomato, cranberry and orange
juice respectively.
Daiquiri - regular and strawberry seem to be tops with this
rum drink.
Long Island Iced Tea - the four white colored liquors (gin,
rum, tequila and vodka) plus orange liqueur. Careful with
this one!
Manhattan / Martini - rye / irish whisky or vodka / gin with
sweet or dry vermouth respectively are usually the main
ingredient combinations.
Margarita - probably tequila's most famous signature
drink. Well known variations include fruit flavored or regular,
salt or no salt and crushed or cubed ice.
Mint Julep / Mojito - mint prevalent. Juleps with bourbon (a
Kentucky Derby favorite) and Mojitos with rum.
Pina Colada - rum with coconut liqueur and pineapple juice.
Sidecar / Tom Collins - gin based using orange liqueur or
club soda primarily.
Whiskey & Cola or Sour - typically dark rum or bourbon.
White / Black Russian - vodka and coffee liqueur. Add light
cream or milk for the white version.

Although loosely grouped according to similarities, each cocktail may be very distinctive depending on type, variety and ratio of ingredients
